The AI Blast Zone
If something in AI failed, where would it land in your firm?
AI chipmakers, cloud providers and AI labs fund, supply and buy from one another. Stress in one can travel round the circle rather than being absorbed. This tool lets you choose what fails, decide how far the failure spreads, and see which of your own processes, funding and holdings it reaches.
It is a prompt for discussion, not an assessment. What matters is the questions it raises for your board.
Before you start
Please tell me who you are and confirm you accept the disclaimer below. I ask each time you open the tool. Whatever you then enter about your firm is kept only in this browser on this device. It is never sent to me.

Where it lands in your firm
Example firmPosition shows the mildest scenario that reaches each item: the centre is reached even by a market loss. A filled marker is reached at the level selected above; a hollow one only at a more severe level. Items whose dependencies are unknown are listed separately below.
Questions the board should consider
The report opens in your browser’s print window. Choose “Save as PDF” as the destination.
Want to test these with your board? Through The AI Risk Dialogue I help boards work out which of their AI dependencies and fallback assumptions deserve a closer look. A 30-minute, no-obligation conversation is a good place to start.

Your firm, roughly
Name the processes that most depend on AI. Rough is fine. If your board argues about what sits underneath a process, the tool is doing its job. What you enter stays in this browser.

The other three routes in
How the spread works: each company carries two kinds of damage. Financial stress (value, funding and credit) passes along equity, lending, funding and customer links, even in a market fall. Service loss passes along supply links, and begins only once failures correlate or a company’s finances become severe enough to cut its capacity. Your processes depend on service, and may feel commercial pressure first; the borrower, investor and lender routes depend on financial stress. The AI-winter level assumes that the whole circle shrinks together, so switching provider no longer helps.
The map shows connections, not proven contagion. It does not model the size of each exposure, contract protections, liquidity or timing. How the tool works, and its limits · The evidence for every link
The weights are judgements, not measurements. Treat a colour as a prompt to ask why.
